Louis Vuitton releases new advertising visuals: American modernism projected onto two muses

Nov 9, 2015

Louis Vuitton has released new visuals and a movie for the third installment of its "Spirit of Travel" advertising campaign, which began in 2014.

Following the previous installment, which was set in the Caribbean, this latest installment was shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier in Palm Springs, California, where the 2016 Cruise Collection was held in May. "Spirit of Travel" muses Alicia Vikander and Michelle Williams show off various looks against the backdrop of The Bob and Dolores Hope Estate, a legendary desert modernist building designed by architect John Lautner.

The two heroines carry bags such as the brand's iconic "Twist" and "Capucines." The new "City Steamer" model by Nicolas Ghesquière, which debuted at the 2016 Cruise Collection show, also makes an appearance.

In addition to the visuals, a movie by Gordon von Steiner has also been released on Louis Vuitton's official website and official app, "Louis Vuitton Pass."
