A love support campaign is underway at the Roppongi Hills Observatory! Tanabata stargazing events and more are being held

Jun 8, 2013

Roppongi Hills Mori Tower Tokyo City View is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the "Lovers' Sanctuary - Lovers Support Campaign," an event supporting couples in honor of the "Lovers' Sanctuary" that runs until next month 7th.

By presenting the "Lovers' Sanctuary Discount Coupon" on the campaign website, you can receive a discount on the usual 3,000 yen admission fee for a couple, reduced to 2,000 yen. In partnership with the Odaiba Palette Town Ferris Wheel, Tokyo City View offers discounts on admission and the Ferris Wheel fare by combining two stickers distributed at each facility to form a heart.

During the event, the Mori Tower rooftop Sky Deck will be open from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and the day before holidays. On next month 7th, an astronomy expert will be invited to the venue to search for the stars Vega and Altair through a telescope for the "Tanabata Special Stargazing Event." On this day, Tokyo Tower and other city lights will be turned off as part of the "CO2 Reduction/Lights Down Campaign 2013," allowing for a clearer view of the stars than usual. Additionally, panels introducing the authors of the romance novel anthology "Love's Sacred Places," released by Shincho Bunko on the 24th of last month (including seven authors, including Fumi Shibata, Shion Miura, and Maha Harada), are also on display in the observation corridor. The Lover's Sacred Places program was launched in April 2006 by the NPO Regional Revitalization Support Center, which selects romantic spots suitable for proposals from among tourist destinations across Japan. The program aims to promote regional revitalization, inter-regional cooperation, and improving the image of marriage as a measure against the declining birthrate and the rise in unmarried people. As of January of this year, the program is operating in collaboration with 116 Lover's Sacred Places nationwide, three overseas locations, and 28 Lover's Sacred Place satellite locations. Tokyo City View was certified in June 2007.
