The "Nordic Exhibition," showcasing Swedish and other Nordic lifestyles, is being held in the event halls on the 6th and 7th floors of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku from November 11th through November 16th.
The exhibition is spread across two venues: "Food Style" on the 6th floor, which focuses on Nordic dining, and "Living Style" on the 7th floor, which brings together lifestyle-enhancing items. The exhibition is held with the cooperation of the embassies of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. At the entrance to the 7th floor, a Pippi doll from the Swedish picture book "Pippi Longstocking" and a large Darnal horse, both on loan from the Swedish Embassy, are on display.
Nordic design is known worldwide for its pop, colorful, and warm aesthetic. The 7th floor offers a wide selection of living items to brighten up your life. Blankets, essential for the cold winter, are available from Finland's Klippan. There's a wide variety of items on display, from basic plains to colorful textiles, including throws for beds and sofas (15,000 yen) and pocket-equipped stoles (12,000 yen) that will keep you cozy while you spend time indoors.
A wide variety of stylish interior decor items are on display, including tableware from Swedish porcelain manufacturer Gustavsberg, colorful Swedish Darnala horses, and lights shaped like the popular Finnish character Moomin (50cm high 70,000 yen, 30cm high 40,000 yen). Lloyd's Antiques, which specializes in Scandinavian vintage furniture, will also be at the booth, offering a selection of tasteful, stately furniture. Daily items include Swedish cosmetics brand Care of Gerd's shampoo (250ml for ¥3,400) and treatment (130ml for ¥4,300), colorful inner-ear earphones (¥4,200) from Swedish brand HappyPlugs, and VOID watches, all making their debut at Isetan. The sixth floor focuses on bread, a staple of Nordic cuisine, and offers traditional Danish open sandwiches and hot dogs topped with a variety of ingredients, including smoked salmon and roast beef, as well as crispy Danish pastries topped with sweet cream and jam. There's also a dine-in corner, where you can enjoy Nordic plates, cheese, and smoked salmon, paired with champagne—perfect for the cold winter. A set featuring Nordic sweets and coffee is also available. During the event, there will also be a talk show by Mori Yuriko, who has published many books related to Northern Europe's Sweden.
