Marunouchi House, the dining zone on the 7th floor of Shin-Maru Building, will host the art event "The MOTHER of DESIGN" from October 27th to November 16th.

The MOTHER of DESIGN has annually exhibited works based on the theme of "Considering the Environment through Design." This year, the 7th edition of the event, titled "COSMIC GIRLS," will focus on four female artists active in Japan and abroad. The exhibit features works themed around a "Journey into Space," transcending time and space.

The participating artists are: Sputniko!, whose works reflect the changing nature of humanity and society due to technology; Haruka Kojin, who reconstructs the landscapes and experiences she feels in her daily life within the exhibition space through installations; Erika Kobayashi, who links historical figures and events with familiar people and interests and presents them in novels and manga; and Saki Chikaraishi, a hyper-knit artist who communicates with the world by placing knitting items around the city.

Events will also be held during the period. On November 2nd and 9th, Chikaraishi Saki's workshop "Let's Make a Yarn Ball Monster!" will be held, where participants will use their imagination to create monsters by sticking stickers and tape on balls of yarn. In addition, on November 3rd there will be a talk show with Kobayashi Erika and photographer Wakagi Shingo. An opening reception is scheduled to be held on October 27th from 8pm.
