Material: COTTON (UPPER), RUBBER (SOLE)

A new crazy color based on Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO's classic low-cut model. Once the shoes are ready, they are spray painted, and then wiped off to create a three-dimensional effect and unevenness, giving them a vintage feel. This season, the upper is made of crazy-colored canvas, and the sole is sprayed with a beige color that appears to change over time. The sole is made of EVA molded from clay, and is made using the opanke method, where the sole is sewn to cover the upper.

For this collaboration, an embroidered Broad Arrow arrow, an arrow indicating that the shoes were once issued by the British government, has been added to the heel, and the heel bar (the single vertical part of the heel) is made into a loop, and the shoelaces are worn by wrapping them around the ankle.

This model is based on the sole of a running shoe, the third in the series of soles made from Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO's original clay. By creating a prototype sole out of clay, we were able to recreate organic shapes that would be impossible to achieve with CAD, as well as complex impressions of punctured or melted surfaces. During the sole prototype stage, we deliberately created asymmetrical sections to create a more complex, raw, clay-like texture rather than a mechanical one. This sole features a melted heel, accenting both its shape and color. Modeled after French military training shoes from the 1990s, the color scheme is inspired by the work of Japanese artist Daiji Matsuda, who has influenced Nigel Cabourn. The heel features an embroidered Broad Arrow, and the initials "MMY" and "NC"—Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO and Nigel Cabourn—are asymmetrically added to the left and right sides. The sole has a vintage-inspired spray finish.
*The purple color is available exclusively at the Isetan Shinjuku store.
