Ginza Fashion Week, a fashion event jointly organized by Matsuya Ginza, Ginza Mitsukoshi, and Printemps Ginza, kicked off on October 22nd and runs until November 4th. The aim of this seventh event is to "disseminate the latest fashion from Ginza to the world." This year, the three stores will also participate in Ginza's town festival, Autumn Ginza, for the first time, and the event is expected to liven up the Ginza area from multiple angles. Autumn Ginza is the collective name for events such as the Ginchakai, where the five schools of tea ceremony come together to celebrate Ginza's autumn season, and Diners Club Ginza Restaurant Week, where customers can enjoy menus from famous Ginza restaurants at special prices. At the opening ceremony of Ginza Fashion Week held on the 22nd, Matsuya Ginza, Ginza Mitsukoshi, and Printemps Ginza each set their own unique theme, with representatives showcasing this year's fall/winter styling. Matsuya Ginza, under the theme of "JAPAN POWER," focused on products made in Japan, Japanese materials, and Japanese designers, and introduced a selection of knitwear. The "nanettelepore" dress (39,000 yen) features a reversible royal blue and check pattern using fabric from Bishu. The "ARTISAN" cardigan (53,000 yen) is made with British wool yarn and knitted in Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture. Ginza Mitsukoshi presented the "GIN-TRA" style, a modern update of 1970s style, under the theme of "NEW 70's Ginza New Tradition." The dress (42,000 yen), a collaboration between FUKUZO, one of the big three Hamatora brands, and Maglie, the king of ladylike dresses, features a traditional tartan check pattern accented with seahorse embroidery on the chest. Kitamura in Yokohama's Motomachi area will be selling a functional handbag (41,667 yen) with a front pocket large enough to store a tablet, exclusively at this store.
The theme of Printemps Ginza is "FRENCH TASTE," proposing a "French lifestyle to be experienced in Ginza." The store will introduce fashion with Bordeaux as the main color, evoking the image of French wine. The dress (38,000 yen) by LANVIN en Bleu is a gorgeous dress accented with a large ribbon adorned with Swarovski crystals. Additionally, smartphone-compatible jersey gloves are available in two-tone (3,600 yen), embroidered (4,300 yen), and lace ribbon (3,600 yen), and feature an original Printemps Ginza design that allows you to use your phone while wearing the gloves.
