Hummel releases realistic uniforms for fictional soccer club "Hafu Estreno" created on social media

Release Date:2021.02.12
Feb 13, 2021
Hawa Estreno is a social media-based soccer club that was established in the spring of 2020, when the J.League was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of allowing people to enjoy soccer with a fictional team. For its second season this year, Hummel has designed the uniforms as an official partner. They will be available exclusively on the Hummel online store from February 12th.

■A place where you can be serious and silly
Hawa Estreno, which quickly rose to fame on social media, was open to M&A with the media or overseas clubs, but with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing around the world, it decided to enter its second season as it sought to explore what it could do as a fictional club. Representative Ryu Kyohei graduated from university this March. "In a society that feels closed off, I felt there was a need for a place where adults could seriously have fun and act silly. I don't think that soccer club supporters often become friends or work together beyond the boundaries of their club, but with a fictional team, soccer lovers can come together and create fun through soccer. I wanted to spread that appeal even further, so I decided to continue this season," he said.

Haba Estreno plays in the Nakamura Bank JS2 League. In addition to Haba, 22 other teams compete, including Bala di Fierro Mikuni and Leociones Mizuki. The league has over 600 players and coaches. Details such as names, height, weight, age, and career history are all set. The player to watch for Haba is Oh Hirugohan from South Korea. Although he joined midway through last season, he is a popular player affectionately nicknamed "Lunch-kun." Another player is striker Keiichi Naruse, who overcame an injury in college to break out. He's shown off his nimble movements in preseason matches.

■ Real Uniforms for a Fictional Team

Amid all this fiction, the uniforms and sponsoring companies are real. This season's uniforms are completely original, created by Hummel. Based on the team's green and yellow colors, the uniform features large chevron lines as shadow stripes across the body. The design also features a motorcycle, a reference to the city known for its bikes and the team's nickname, "Bike Army." A motorbike speeding from the front to the back is depicted.

The main sponsor remains the same as last year, with "yollo," a company that plans, develops, and operates web services, and on the back is "hudl Japan," known for developing and selling video analysis software and AI cameras for sports teams. New sponsors include "STAGE," a recruitment and headhunting company; "LIKES," which produces events, idols, and entertainment businesses; and "Champion Curry," the original creator of Kanazawa curry. The right sleeve also features the official emblem of the Nakamura Bank SJ2 League, giving the uniform an official feel.

■Product Information
The new uniforms being released are two types for field players (FP): long-sleeved and short-sleeved. In addition to the plain uniforms, there are also ones with your favorite player's name and number, and sets with the number 12 and an original name, for a total of 25 patterns to choose from. In addition, to commemorate the release of this uniform, a woven hoodie, which the players wear when riding their bikes, will also be released. ■About Hummel
The Danish sports brand "hummel" was founded in 1923 as the developer of the world's first studded cleats. At a time when soccer was played with leather shoes, adding studs to the flat soles dramatically improved grip, making previously impossible plays possible. The brand then adopted the story of a bumblebee (hummel in German), which was theoretically too heavy to fly, but which, through repeated efforts, was able to fly, and used it as its name and logo. After 90 years of history, the brand is currently developing its own unique brand story with the mission "Change the World Through Sport." It continues to take on new challenges.
