A new shopping zone, "Trend Square," opened on June 25th at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport TOKYO-BAY in Minami-Funabashi, Chiba. Trend Square is a newly renovated and reopened space formerly occupied by a cinema complex on the third floor of the South Building, which replaced the West Building's TOHO CINEMA in November of last year. Focusing on women's apparel targeting women around 20 years old, the space features 28 stores, including 14 stores opening in Chiba Prefecture for the first time and three new shops. "As the name 'Trend Square' suggests, we designed the entire space to exude a sense of style," said Yasunori Sonoda of Mitsui Fudosan. The space offers a wide selection of brands opening in Chiba for the first time, with M.A.C., a brand not typically found in shopping malls, located in the center of the space. Additionally, the space features a powder room with a pop and romantic décor, a rest area, a baby room, and a nursing room next to the restrooms, enhancing the space's amenities to ensure a comfortable experience for young women.
The main shops include "rienda," "RAGTAG," and "ESPERANZA," as well as "HOLLISTAER," a sister brand of "Abercrombie & Fitch," and men's apparel brands "GOSTAR DE FUGA" and "NAVAL," all opening their first stores in Chiba Prefecture. The three new stores include Paris Juliet, a Chelsea, New York, interior and lifestyle goods retailer offering a more feminine selection; Soeur de aimerfeel, the sister brand of the existing lingerie brand aimerfeel, offering a line with improved correction features, higher-quality materials, and higher prices; Brand My Star, a line of secondhand luxury goods from brands like Chanel, Prada, and Tory Burch to go with vintage clothing; and WEGO, a vintage clothing brand with a section for lifestyle goods aimed at a wider customer base than just the Harajuku crowd. With the opening of Trend Square, LaLaport TOKYO-BAY aims to attract 25 million visitors and exceed 70 billion yen in sales per year across the entire facility. Last year, when the West Building was undergoing reconstruction, sales were 61 billion yen.
