
REALITY LAB. ISSEY MIYAKE, a Tokyo-based shop in Aoyama that opened on November 11th as a space for Issey Miyake to present new creations with his research and development team, Reality Lab, will celebrate its first anniversary with a special fair from November 11th to the 24th. The fair will feature items created specifically for the occasion, inspired by the number "1," which represents "start" and "basic." Items include a new black pleated parka with a gold zipper (¥26,000) from HOMME PLISSE ISSEY MIYAKE, a basic clutch bag accented with gold hardware (¥27,000) from BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE, and pants from 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE with a sharp silhouette and gold leaf accents from the 3D series. During the period, customers who spend over 20,000 yen (tax included) will receive a limited-edition original shopping bag made from recycled polyester as a gift.
In addition, on the 15th, four principal players from the string orchestra Tokyo Sinfonia will be invited to hold a "String Quartet Concert." Cello, viola, and violin players will be split into three floors within the shop, and will take turns performing. The performance will transition from profound Baroque pieces to more modern pieces, expressing a fusion of old and new. For the final part, all the players will gather at the main entrance to play a beautiful string quartet. The first performance will start at 2 p.m., and the second at 5 p.m.
