Dior unveiled its Spring/Summer 2015 collection on September 26th. "My challenge was to infuse something very historical with a contemporary reality," said Artistic Director Raf Simons, showcasing a collection that mixed classic and modern elements. Elements from the Autumn/Winter 2014-15 Haute Couture collection, unveiled in July, were still incorporated. Raf unpacked the 18th-century traditions that inspired Monsieur Dior, blending them with skater, aviator, and school styles for a contemporary look. The collection followed the Aviara Française, the court style of the time. The Justocorp jacket, with its deliberate darts, contrasting panels, and lavish embroidery, showcases the house's couture techniques. Paired with a T-shirt and skater shorts, it offers a contemporary look. The blouse also featured intricate embroidery. The curved sleeves, reminiscent of the late 18th-century Baroque style, were a striking feature. While patterns at the time were simply curved, Raf used optimal darts and cuts to create sleeves with a three-dimensional, beautiful silhouette.

The designs were not simple. In this age of digital printing, Raf sought elaborate, authentic designs, using jacquard to weave shadows and warp prints made by dyeing and weaving threads to create small floral patterns.

The day dress was made from T-shirt material for a modern look. The original, firm jersey fabric was transformed into an elegant dress with tucks and cuts.
