"WERK: WE WORK TOGETHER," an exhibition of works by art director and designer Theseus Chan, hailed as a "national treasure of Singapore," will be held from November 6th in the gallery space on the first floor of Tsutaya Bookstore Building No. 2 in Daikanyama, Tokyo.
The exhibition will showcase Chan's entire work and future endeavors, centered around "WERK," his life's work magazine, each issue of which is produced in collaboration with Chan and brands, shops, and creators. Silkscreen works and merchandise specially created for this exhibition will also be on display and for sale.
The art floor on the first floor of Building No. 2 will also be hosting a fair featuring the latest issues of WERK, including #21 featuring Martine Bedin and #22, which features the 10th anniversary of Dover Street Market London. Drawings by Bedin, a member of the Memphis design collective featured in #21, will also be on display and for sale. A talk show and autograph session with Chan will be held from 7pm on the 11th.
Chan won the Designer Eve of the Year Award at the Presidents Design Awards in 2006, and was named one of the top 100 designers in the world by Area_2 in 2008. Werk's solo exhibition was held at COMME des GARÇONS stores in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Beijing in the spring/summer of 2013.
