Hip-hop MC Snoop Dogg was born on October 20, 1971, in California, USA. His real name is Calvin Broadus.
His parents divorced before he was born, and he and his siblings were raised by his mother. He was a member of a gang in his youth, and after graduating from high school, he was sentenced to a year in prison for drug possession. However, after his release, he formed the rap group Clique 213. Their demo tape became popular locally, catching the attention of Dr. Dre, who had left the popular rap group N.W.A. In 1992, Dr. Dre released his first solo single, "Deep Cover," on which Snoop Dogg featured, marking his recording debut.
Dr. Dre's debut album, "Chronic," released in 1992, was so popular that it was called the "best-selling hip-hop album in history." Snoop Dogg featured on every track on this album, helping to spread his name around the world. The following year, he released his debut album, "Doggy Style." This work, depicting the life of a West Coast gangster, reached number one on the Billboard charts. This led to Rolling Stone naming him the best rapper, and just a year after his debut, Snoop Dogg rose to become one of America's leading rappers.

He then founded his own label, "Doggy Style Records," and released his second album, "Doggfather," in 1996 and his third, "Tha Game Is To Be Sold, Not To Be Told," in 1998. It was around this time that he changed his stage name from "Snoop Doggy Dogg" to his current name, "Snoop Dogg." In 1999, he collaborated with Dr. Dre again on the album "No Limit Top Dogg."

Though Snoop Dogg was enjoying his popularity as a charismatic rapper, he suddenly switched his style to reggae in 2012. The shocking news of him changing his stage name to Snoop Lion swept the industry. The story behind this was revealed in the 2013 film "Road to Lion," in which he played the lead role, garnering much attention.

Snoop Dogg has also appeared in numerous films, including the 1994 short film "Murder Was The Case." This film is based on the true story of Snoop Dogg's bodyguard being accused of first-degree murder after sparking a shootout, and is a must-see for fans, including the soundtrack. In 2000, he directed the adult film "Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle," which won an AVN Award, known as the Oscar of the porn industry. In 2005, he founded the production company Snoopadelic Films and released the black comedy film Soul Plane, in which he starred.

In 2012, he appeared in a short animation for Adidas Japan's app Adidas Christmas Facebook. Also, when the film Snoop Dogg: Road to Lion was released, a collaborative T-shirt commemorating the release was released by A BATHING APE.
