FAKE TOKYO, operator of the Shibuya-based select shops CANDY and Sister, opened a new lifestyle shop, FAKE FURNITURE by FAKE TOKYO, on September 26th. Located at 4-26-5 Meguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, the shop is located on Meguro-dori, a street crowded with interior design shops. A PR representative explained the choice of location, saying, "We aimed to create a shop that's unique in this area, somewhere between an antique furniture shop and a major interior design store." The target customers are those in their 20s and 30s. The greenery and woody interior create a relaxed atmosphere, reminiscent of a friend's home. However, the shop maintains FAKE TOKYO's traditional style of featuring young creators, with the aim of creating a shop that offers a unique experience with each visit, with a sense of enjoyment in styling, just like fashion. The store also plans to host special exhibitions featuring artists.
The store carries a selection of interior goods, miscellaneous goods, and plants from Japan and abroad. International brands include DAVID DAVID, SELETTI, COMMON GOOD, and ELEY KISHIMOTO, as well as domestic brands like La Maison du Savon de Marseille, METALSISTEM, and SECOND LAB. The lineup also includes a selection of vintage and remade items, as well as a chair created in collaboration with Australian fashion brand P.A.M. and Karimoku.
The online store is scheduled to open in early October, and the latest information is currently available on the official Fake Furniture by Fake Tokyo Instagram account.
