S’YTE × marquee club COLLABORATE COLLECTIONA collaborative collection between London's legendary live music venue Marquee Club(R)/marquee club(R) and S’YTE (site), a brand exclusive to the official e-commerce site of Japan's leading worldwide fashion brand, Yohji Yamamoto Co., Ltd., will be released on February 4th.
"S'YTE (site)", a brand exclusive to Yohji Yamamoto Co., Ltd.'s official e-commerce site, is a brand that offers high-quality cut-and-sew items with a focus on "Made in JAPAN" quality, while inheriting Yohji Yamamoto's signature "cutting" and "silhouette", and proposing more accessible real clothes.
Since opening in 1958, the Marquee Club(R) has always been a hub of the music scene, hosting numerous performances of blues, soul, rock, punk, pop and more, and being a symbol of "Swinging London" in the 1960s and the "Swinging 60's", and the birthplace of new rock stars from the 1970s to the late 1980s.
*Legendary artists who have previously performed at the Marquee Club(R):
The Who, The Yardbirds, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart, Jimi Hendrix Experience, AC/DC, The Faces, Small Faces, Moody Blues, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits, The Stranglers, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Genesis, U2, etc.
This was the place where the latest sounds were played every night by such world-class bands and artists. This was the Marquee Club(R), and its history is archived by many music fans, regardless of age, gender, or nationality.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to hold live performances around the world these days. This collaboration was made possible by S'YTE's renewed focus on the legendary live music venue, the Marquee Club®, and their desire to connect "live music culture" by featuring the great music history that was born there.
The Marquee Club®'s historic logo, as well as the designs of posters, flyers, tickets, etc. created from the 1960s to 1980s, are popular not only with old fans but also with younger people born after the club's heyday. This collaborative collection, which combines Marquee Club® materials with S'YTE's unique graphics to create original patterns on apparel, will go on sale from February 4th at the Yohji Yamamoto Co. official web store, "THE SHOP YOHJI YAMAMOTO."
