As natural cosmetics brands from overseas continue to make inroads, British personal skincare brand Make It & Co. will open on March 6th at Beauty Apothecary on the basement floor of Isetan Shinjuku. This will be the brand's second store in Japan, following its flagship store in Ginza, and its first in a department store.
Make It & Co. is a skincare brand founded in Glastonbury, England, in 2004 with the concept of creating products that make the most of the blessings of nature, based on the idea that "incorporating natural ingredients into daily skincare can recreate the environment skin needs." Committed to using natural ingredients for all ingredients, including preservatives that maintain stability, the brand's products are formulated with organic and natural ingredients grown by contract farmers, as well as high-quality essential oils made from "wild-growing" materials that are said to surpass organic quality.
Beauty Apothecary will be selling the "Face and Body Wash Oil" (200ml/6,800 yen), a multi-purpose oil that serves four purposes (cleansing, facial cleanser, lotion, and emulsion) and suggests a rethinking of "washing habits" for modern women struggling with severe dryness and aging. In addition to 13 ready-made items carefully selected from the 58 SKUs available at the Ginza flagship store, the brand will also be selling a "Travel Kit" (5,250 yen) exclusive to Beauty Apothecary, which includes best-selling items.
Since opening its first flagship store in Ginza in September 2012, the brand has steadily increased the number of salons and other stores that stock its products. The brand hopes that its entry into the Isetan Shinjuku Beauty Apothecary, which has the ability to attract customers and has a high-quality clientele, will lead to further fan acquisition and sales.
