Unparalleled savoir-faire was evident in every look at the Cruise 2021 show. The "Book Tote" has been released, incorporating the "touring" leather carving technique that reflects this essence. Touring (decorative carving) is a traditional Argentine leather carving technique that has primarily been used on horse saddles and other items.
Maria Grazia Chiuri's floral motif design is first hand-carved into the leather surface, and then the spaces between the patterns are precisely hollowed out using a laser cut, creating a three-dimensional effect. Multiple layers of coating are then applied, resulting in a unique texture.
Attention to detail is also evident in the finishing touches. Rosettes shaped like flower pistils are attached beautifully and precisely to the flower motif, completing the piece.
