"Art Convenience Store by mastermind JAPAN," a collection of fashion items and miscellaneous goods created by mastermind JAPAN in collaboration with domestic and international brands, opened on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku on March 27th.
With the theme of "artistic convenience store," fashion magazine Numero TOKYO and mastermind JAPAN designer Masaaki Homma contributed ideas to select the items.
"With Numero's cooperation, we were able to work with brands we wouldn't normally be able to collaborate with, such as Loewe, Tasaki, and Aquascutum. Once we decided on the collaboration, all the brands were very cooperative with the planning, and we were able to complete the products relatively quickly," said designer Homma, who visited the venue.
This time, thanks to an appeal from mastermind and Numero Tokyo, collaborations have been made with a wide range of brands, from high fashion brands such as LOEWE, TASAKI, and Aquascutum to home appliance brand Amadana, glass manufacturer Fire-King, and writing instrument manufacturer BIC. A variety of other items will also be available, including thermo mugs, toilet paper, and key rings.
On the first day, approximately 500 people lined up before the store opened, and by 3 p.m., the line was still long at the venue. The event will run until April 9th. From April 26th, it will be held at JR Osaka Mitsukoshi Isetan.
