Shu Uemura will release a new lotion in the TSUYA series, TSUYA Lotion (150ml/4,800 yen), on August 1st.
The item focuses on removing waste products that slow down cell function and improving the skin cell environment. It contains yeast extract, which complements the function of lysosomes, a small organelle that removes waste products accumulated in skin cells like a vacuum cleaner. Clinical evaluations have shown that this improves skin texture and moisturizes the skin. It comes in three types: "I Fresh Watery Type," which has a refreshing feel for oily skin; "II Watery Type," which has a moisturizing feel for combination skin; and "III Rich Jelly Type," which is a gel-like type for dry skin. Also released at the same time was the "Silk Supreme Crystallizer Natural Silk & Cotton" (45 sheets/700 yen), a cotton pad designed to maximize the effects of the lotion. The double-sided design, made of silk and cotton, allows users to gently polish their skin with the silk side after soaking in the lotion, and then pat their skin with the cotton side. Two years ago, the "TSUYA Essence" (30ml/8,000 yen, 50ml/10,500 yen) from the same series was released. It surpassed its monthly sales target within five days of its release and reportedly surpassed the brand's annual sales of its previous anti-aging serum in a single month. It has since won top spots in best cosmetics awards and user reviews, making the TSUYA series an iconic part of the brand. Based on the philosophy that "beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin," Shu Uemura will collaborate with a Japanese research institute to strengthen the development of skincare products tailored to Asian consumers.
