An exhibition looking back at the connection between Dior and photographers. A photo book is also available.

Jun 16, 2014

The Christian Dior Museum in Normandy, France, is hosting "Dior: The Legendary Images," an exhibition that explores the contribution of photography to the global success of Dior. The exhibition runs until September 21st.

The exhibition focuses on three themes: the photographer's perspective, the resulting Dior style, and how the Dior image was created. The exhibition features over 200 works by photographers ranging from the post-war period to the present, including Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, and Peter Lindbergh, along with approximately 60 aubergine tulle dresses and archival materials. It traces the history of fashion photography over 60 years.

In addition, a photo book of the same name is currently on sale. It includes previously unpublished images, such as historic photographs of Dior's first show by American photographer Pat English and Cecil Beaton's photographs of Christian Dior at home.
