From March 2nd to 8th, Isetan Shinjuku will collaborate with Bunka Fashion Graduate University to host "ReStyle x Designers of Now and Tomorrow," a project to discover "designers of the future," in the promotion space of West Park on the third floor of the main building.
The project, born from the idea of "celebrating in formal attire" the 20th anniversary of ReStyle's store opening this year, will see today's leading designers and brands, along with 14 Bunka Fashion Graduate University students who are expected to be designers of the future, create and introduce "silk little black dresses that they would like to sell at ReStyle." Products by the "designers of today" will be on sale at the venue, and a contest will be held to determine the winner and runner-up for the "designers of the future."
Products to be released as "Designers of the Present" include a silk dress by AKIRA NAKA (from 65,000 yen), a lace pleated dress by leur logette (89,000 yen), a silk dress by AKANE UTSUNOMIYA (56,000 yen), a little black dress by Julien David (83,000 yen), a little black dress by RHIE (83,000 yen), and a dress by KEITA MARUYAMA (89,000 yen).
During the event, a popularity vote will be held for the works of the "Designers of the Future" between customers visiting Re-Style and Mitsukoshi Isetan employees. According to the store, the voting criteria were "whether the design is attractive and unprecedented" and "whether the design is desirable for fashion customers on the third floor of Isetan Shinjuku." The winner and runner-up will have their works, along with their own original works, exhibited in the Restyle Art Frame on the same floor from March 16th to 29th, after the end of the contest.
