Bespoke lingerie brand Chiyono Anne has unveiled its first ready-to-wear collection. An exhibition of the first collection will be held for two days, March 12th and 13th, at GALLERY MUVEIL in Aoyama, Tokyo (Chateau Minami-Aoyama B1F, 5-12-24 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo). While maintaining the concept of its bespoke line, the brand offers more affordable lingerie, loungewear, and accessories. All items are handmade in the brand's own atelier, using comfortable, high-quality materials. The 2016 Spring/Summer collection is comprised of three series inspired by three modern women. The series inspired by "Evy," a cool, fashion-loving woman, features edgy designs based on black satin and French stretch lace. The sporty and boyish "May" series is charmingly crafted using pale blue British silk satin and Japanese lace. The "Lou Lou" series, embracing individual style, uses pink-beige British silk satin and original Japanese embroidered lace, blending a vintage vibe with a playful, modern touch. Designer Chiyono Anne Jaeger was born in Tokyo to an American father and a Japanese mother, and grew up in London and New York. She studied classical ballet from an early age and was inspired by art and fashion. She studied at SOAS, University of London, and Waseda University. After earning a master's degree in bespoke lingerie design from De Montfort University in the UK, she mastered traditional British tailoring techniques at Savile Rowse in London. She also continued to study holistic design, including art and interior design, before launching her own brand. Her goal is to raise women's awareness through the lingerie they wear. With the brand concept of "creating lingerie to fit each individual's body, rather than making the body fit the lingerie," the brand aims to create lingerie that is not just underwear, but one that brings out each person's unique charm. Chiyono's unique philosophy is that precisely because it is something that cannot be seen from the outside, it has an impact on the core of a woman. Her collection, created with high craftsmanship as lingerie for oneself, not for show, attracts discerning women.
