Greg Lauren, arguably the most acclaimed designer to debut at the New York Collection in recent years, will open his first pop-up shop in Japan at SUPER dot MARKET in Omotesando on March 19th. The designer himself will also be visiting Japan for the event. Greg will also be designing the space.
Not only is he the nephew of Ralph Lauren, but he also seems to have been blessed with natural talent as an actor, painter, and sculptor. Greg Lauren began selling at Barneys New York in 2011. He remade vintage military items, materials, and parts to create new items inspired by American heroes and movie stars, and his jackets, shirts, and tuxedos have attracted attention as art pieces. Known clients include Brad Pitt, Chris Martin, Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, and Ruby Rose. The brand made its runway debut at New York Fashion Week in September 2014, and its style has garnered global recognition. Its collection is currently sold in over 60 stores worldwide, and in Japan, it has been featured at Isetan Shinjuku and CABaN HAYAMA. The collection, which combines various materials such as military tents, parachutes, and duffel bags with distressing and spray-on treatments to create a unique look, elevates the organic and West Coast lifestyles that are currently gaining attention. It has received acclaim every season, including its show presentations. The 16SS collection has expanded to include hats, stoles, accessories, and jewelry, and this pop-up will feature both men's and women's lines.
