A two-day event featuring the world's best coffees will be held in Kanda! Fuglen, Trunk Coffee, and more

Mar 28, 2016

The "Coffee Collection Around Kanda Nishikicho 2016 Spring," featuring a gathering of renowned single-origin coffee specialty shops garnering global attention, will be held on April 23rd and 24th at the Terrace Square complex in Kanda Nishikicho, Tokyo. The venue will feature five "single-origin coffee" specialty shops each day, for a total of nine over the two days. This event offers a chance to compare hand-dripped coffees brewed by award-winning baristas. To fully appreciate the unique flavors of each shop's beans, roasting methods, and brewing techniques, all shops use the same brewing equipment and brew under the same conditions. A single coffee is priced at ¥400 (tax included), while a "5 cups ticket" tasting set featuring flavors from five shops is priced at ¥1,000 (tax included). 250 "5 cups tickets" are available for pre-order online, and also available on the day.

The participating stores on April 23rd are TRUNK COFFEE, Fuglen Tokyo, Paul Bassett, AMAMERIA ESPRESSO, and GLITCH COFFEE & ROASTERS, and on the 24th they will be Glitch Coffee & Roasters, Single O Japan, Four Barrel Coffee by MERRY TIME, SLOW JET COFFEE, and THE LOCAL.

There will also be hand drip seminars at the venue by the world Aeropress champion and the Japanese hand drip champion. The "ROASTERS SELECTION," a set of three 50g coffee beans roasted by three popular baristas - Suzuki Kiyokazu of GLITCH COFFEE & ROASTERS, Kojima Kenji of FUGLEN TOKYO, and Suzuki Yasuo of TRUNK COFFEE - will also be sold exclusively for the event at 2,000 yen (tax included).

In addition, two satellite venues will be hosting events to help you enjoy coffee even more. Planned events include tastings and sales of six types of wine, wine seminars, and classes on how to make sweets that go well with coffee.
