Jonathan Anderson's LOEWE show took place at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on March 4th. While retaining the futuristic vision of his early days, the collection displayed a more elegant finish, offering a refreshingly new direction this season, offering fresh surprises. Industrial elements like ring chains and rubber bands, combined with humorous details like cat and mask necklaces and charms, may not seem incompatible at first glance, but in Anderson's hands, they blend seamlessly within a single collection. The idea of combining opposites was also evident in the materials, with Anderson experimenting with new ideas such as combining bamboo jersey with nylon and bonding silk to viscose. Another defining feature of this season was the feminine look, paired with a voluminous handkerchief-hem skirt. The rugged, military-inspired utility wear, given a luxurious finish, was also intriguing. A collarless leather coat, typical of LOEWE, a long-established leather goods manufacturer, was given a modern touch with its dropped shoulders. A leather bustier was also a key accessory.
The tweed suit with fringe created by removing threads, which appeared towards the end of the show, left a strong impression with its unique texture and silhouette.
