Jean-Paul Hevin will be selling a limited-time collection for "Poisson d'Avril," which falls on April 1st, France's equivalent of April Fool's Day, at all Jean-Paul Hevin boutiques and online until April 7th.
April 1st is known in Japan as April Fool's Day, a day when small lies and pranks are permitted. In France, this day is called "Poisson d'Avril" (April Fish), and it is common for children to play pranks by sticking fish-shaped paper on someone's back, or to eat pie with a fish (mackerel) motif.
The new collection will feature fish-shaped chocolates to coincide with "Poisson d'Avril." The chocolates that will be available include "Poisson dans les nuages noir / les" (3,570 yen each), which resemble a fish that has stuck its head in a cloud while swimming in the sky, and "Poisson d'Avril" (1,018 yen), a fish-shaped dessert made of chocolate-flavored pie crust filled with chopped chocolate and almond cream. Fish-shaped guimauves (marshmallows) will also be available.
