
The winners of the 38th Kimura Ihei Photography Award have been announced: Kikuchi Tomoko and Dodo Arata. Kikuchi won for "I and I," from the group exhibition "Emerging Japanese Artists Vol. 11: Somewhere Between This World and Me," while Dodo won for "The Other Side," the title work from the photo exhibition "The Other Side." The winners will be announced in the February 8 morning edition of the Asahi Shimbun and in the March issue of Asahi Camera, on sale February 20. Details of the selection process and other details will be published in the April issue of Asahi Camera. The award ceremony will be held at 6:30 PM on April 23 at Tokyo Kaikan in Marunouchi, and the winners will each receive a certificate, a medal, and a prize of 500,000 yen. An exhibition of the winning works will be held at Konica Minolta Plaza in Shinjuku from April 23 to May 2. This award, aimed at emerging photographers, was established in 1975 to commemorate the achievements of the late Kimura Ihei. Past recipients include Fujiwara Shinya, Tsuzuki Kyoichi, Ninagawa Mika, Hiromix, and Sanai Masashi.
