Izreel launches men's bridal line "Unformal"

Feb 20, 2013

IZREEL will launch a men's formal bridal line, "ANFORMAL," from the Fall/Winter 2013-14 season.

Based on the concept of "ANFORMAL," a combination of the words "anti" and "formal," the line offers a new formal style incorporating IZREEL's signature materials, silhouettes, and gimmicks for rental at bridal rental salons and hotels.

By combining a striped or houndstooth vest made from jacquard woven on a tie loom with a collarless jacket, you can create your own style. Even the hidden details have been carefully considered, with the collared tailored jacket lined in leopard print. Three styles of pants are available, including short and ankle-length pants, incorporating fashion trends. High-top shoes are also available for a playful look. Original bow ties and handkerchiefs are also available. The collection also includes an aloha-patterned vest inspired by a Hawaiian destination wedding, as well as a jacket and shorts set made of wrinkle-resistant stretch material that's perfect for airplane travel. This design draws on the designer's experience at The Suit Company, where he created athletic suits suitable for cycling to work. "Wedding dresses dominate the bridal market, so I wanted to offer men's formal wear that's different from the usual white and gray sets," says designer Kazuhiro Takakura. "The stretch material can be paired with IZREEL polo shirts and golf collections, and the pants are designed to be suitable for a destination wedding. The jacquard fabric featured in the jackets and pants in this collection is also being offered as a vest and tie for the formal collection, encouraging men who don't usually wear patterns to wear it. Going forward, I'd like to expand the variety of linings and incorporate imported materials."

Izreel proposes high-end styles for men in Tokyo and has participated in Tokyo Collection for seven seasons since the Spring/Summer 2008 collection. The brand will celebrate its 10th anniversary in May this year. Last year, the brand produced men's formal wear at the request of an acquaintance, but it was well received, which led to the decision to start this line.

Exhibitions will be held twice a year, in February and September, and, just like the collections, new designs will be proposed that incorporate trends for each season, Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.
