Online retailer Yumetenbo expands into TV shopping. Launches Chapter One, a brand aimed at women in their 30s, in collaboration with QVC Japan

Feb 22, 2013

Yumetenbo Co., Ltd., operator of the fashion online shopping site "Yumetenbo," has collaborated with QVC Japan, Inc., a television-focused multimedia retailer, to launch a new women's clothing brand, "Chapter One," targeting women in their 30s. This marks Yumetenbo's first attempt at television shopping, as the company has operated exclusively online since its founding in 1998. While Yumetenbo operates 11 online shopping sites and boasts approximately 1.35 million members, its core users are in their teens and 20s, and the dropout of those in their late 20s has posed a challenge. Yumetenbo felt the need for a new sales channel. Compared to the internet, television shopping allows for more detailed explanations of product details and brand stories, making it the ideal channel for disseminating information to users in their 30s who value product quality and background. This led to the launch of sales. Yumetenbo's program announcements will attract online shopping users to the TV program. "Chapter One" proposes next-generation mixed coordination that can be worn in a variety of situations for women who have graduated from fast fashion and are looking for fashion that can step up as they age. Yumetenbo plans the products using its know-how in selling trendy items, and sells original products that meet QVC's unique high quality standards. In the preview program aired on January 24th, the planned number of items for sale that day was almost all sold out. "Chapter One" will officially launch with the program of the same name, "Chapter One," which will air from 9:00 pm on March 26th.
