Christian Louboutin launches custom shoe tattoo service

Feb 25, 2013

A new custom-made service has been launched at Christian Louboutin men's boutiques since February.

The service involves embroidering a motif from a customer's current tattoo or a motif designed by Louboutin himself onto a shoe. The service is by appointment only and is available at four boutiques: Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles. A new dedicated space has been set up within the store, known as the "Tattoo Parlor."

The shoes available for this service range from the sporty "Louis" sneaker to the elegant "Henri" loafer. In addition, a new model, "Nigel," has been designed specifically for this service. Orders can also be made from the women's line, with four models to choose from: the "Rollergirl" flats, the "Louis" sneakers, the elegant "Belle" ankle boots, and the "Highness" high heels.

The ordered tattoo motif is made into a pattern in a studio in Paris, and then embroidered onto the surface of the shoe by skilled artisans in Italy and India. The embroidery can be chosen from three types: black and silver only, colored thread, or beads. Prices range from $1,060 to $4,000, and the shoes will be delivered to the customer in approximately three months from the time of order.
