Singapore-based art director Theseus Chan is planning to launch a new magazine in Japan next spring. The publication will be Parco Publishing, and the first issue will feature ANREALAGE. The announcement was made at a talk event with ANREALAGE designer Kunihiko Morinaga at Daikanyama T-Site on November 11th. The new magazine will be titled "W__K W__K" (nicknamed "Wakuwaku") and will be published irregularly as a sister publication to Morinaga's previously independently published magazine, "WERK." The two first met in 2012, following Theseus Chan's solo exhibition at the Ginza Graphic Gallery and the "A REAL UN REAL AGE" exhibition at Parco Museum. Morinaga said, "We'd been talking about creating a magazine together since then." For the inaugural issue, Theseus himself traveled to France to see the ANREALAGE show, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week in September. Theseus himself highly praises Morinaga's talent. While the content is still undecided, he commented, "Various ideas for the inaugural issue come to mind every day. Two years ago, at an exhibition, I was excited to see what I would have wanted to do if I were a fashion designer. Morinaga is one of the most important creators who inspires me." While WERK has been published two issues per year, it didn't even release a single issue last year. This year, it released two issues, #21, featuring Martine Bedin, and #22, a special feature on the 10th anniversary of Dover Street Market London. The Daikanyama T-Site is hosting an exhibition titled "WERK: WE WORK TOGETHER" until the 26th.
