NikeLab and Vision-Airs have announced a collaborative shoe.
Air Max has previously collaborated with a variety of creators, from artists to fashion designers. With the 30th anniversary of Air Max fast approaching, this collaboration sees Marc Newson, Riccardo Tisci, and Arthur Huang, three representatives of the fields of architecture, design, style, and art, each expressing their own unique style in various elements of the Air Max 1 to the latest Nike Air VaporMax. The "NIKELAB AIR VAPORMAX X MARC NEWSON" (¥30,000) is a collaboration between NikeLab and product designer Marc Newson. Drawing inspiration from traditional moccasins, the shoe features a full-grain leather body, a Velcro-strap frame, a die-cut Nike Flyknit sockliner, striking cross-stitching, and a TPU cupsole connecting the upper to the latest Air unit, maintaining the shoe's light weight and responsive feel underfoot. The "NIKELAB AIR MAX 97 X R.T." (¥22,000), designed by fashion designer Riccardo Tisci, adds a hidden zippered pocket on the tongue to enhance the shoe's functionality, and a milky white translucent outsole creates a contrast between faux tumbled leather and the underlying faux suede. Furthermore, foil accents and embossed logos create a different finish from the OG sole.
In addition, Arthur Huang, CEO of Miniwiz and an architect, designed the "NIKELAB AIR MAX 1 FK ROYAL X ARTHUR HUANG" (25,000 yen), the lightest Air Max 1 made entirely from recycled materials.
