Taktaku (tac:tac) has announced its 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection. This season, the brand is taking on a new challenge by releasing a collaborative piece with artist Ryu Okubo. Ryu Okubo is an up-and-coming artist who primarily works through illustration and animation, working on music videos, magazines, advertisements, interior design, and more. He has attracted attention for his unique style, which shifts between simple line drawings, airbrushing, watercolors, and digital media depending on the theme or interest. This collaboration was realized through an approach from Taktaku designer Takaaki Shimase. The collaborative piece, "This Flower Means " ," combines what at first glance appears to be rough and violent spray paint with delicate pressed flowers, expressing Taktaku's bold worldview. The lineup will include T-shirts, jackets, and tote bags featuring vibrant colors such as yellow, purple, and blue against a white background. Ahead of the collection's release, the brand is currently selling two T-shirts at its Koenji and Daikanyama stores: the "tac:ryu okubo dance-T" (7,000 yen), which features the dance mark of the former Akino Dance School site (now the Tac:ryu Koenji store) in Okubo's own style, and the "tac:ryu okubo tatami-T" (7,000 yen), which connects motifs when folded to complete the design.

The 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection features a chic color palette of greige, burgundy, khaki, and mustard, and offers relaxed pieces with a focus on detailed patterns. The collection includes a wide variety of outerwear, from pullovers and easy pants to hoodie coats, two-tone ponchos, and nylon-look trench coats.
