Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci held its Fall/Winter 2017-18 men's collection show at the National Library. Drawing inspiration from the American West, the collection was inspired by Native American culture and early '80s vintage fashion. Even traditional pieces like jackets, peacoats, duffle coats, and firefighter jackets were playfully enhanced with color and detail. The collection's gothic vibe was diverged from its predecessors by enlarging the buttons on the jackets, using multicolored toggles and loops on the duffle coats, and replacing them with jeweled buttons, creating a pop image. The block stripe series featured shirts coordinated with oversized ties and knit pullovers with plunging necklines. Photographs of Native American women and mask motifs reminiscent of totem poles were featured on T-shirts and knitwear, while star motifs enhanced the American image. There were also feminine elements, such as a tartan shirt with a totem pole design made of ruffles and a gingham shirt decorated with large ruffles. At the end of the show, 12 haute couture pieces were unveiled.
