Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store will be hosting a photo exhibition by Harumichi Saito, "Absolute," from November 18th to November 30th, 2020, at the Mitsukoshi Contemporary Gallery on the 6th floor of the main building. Born with the unique condition of congenital sensorineural hearing loss, Saito has also gained popularity for his collection of essays based on his own experiences, and the everyday moments he captures are deeply intimate.

This exhibition, titled "Absolute," will feature approximately 20 works from his backlit portrait series, capturing the flicker of life radiating from illuminated subjects. These works, filled with a ray of hope, will inspire you to keep them close and live with them.

About Harumichi Saito
Saito began taking up photography around 2008, and won the 33rd New Cosmos of Photography Excellence Award in 2010. He first picked up a camera at the age of 20. Choosing to "see" rather than "listen," Saito has used the medium of photography to face his own questions and interact with people head-on. When I come into contact with Saito's work and words, I am struck by an overwhelming light, just as if I were staring directly at the sunlight.
