Eytys is holding a pop-up event from March 29th to April 4th at the women's shoes section on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
The pop-up uses sneakers that were popular in the early '90s as a design base, incorporating new silhouettes and materials, creating a nostalgic yet elegant and contemporary look. This new model has been added to the 2017 Spring/Summer collection.
Creative director Max Schiller says, "When I was little, I was obsessed with sneakers. For this collection, I aimed to recreate the ideal sneakers that I desperately wanted as a child, while also creating a sophisticated design that can be worn comfortably even now as an adult." The lineup includes the "Wave," designed as a homage to the designer's childhood favorites; the "Kingston," Eighties' first dress shoe; the "Kingston MX," the Kingston's cool sibling featuring a tough tractor sole and rivet-reinforced leather patchwork; the "Ace," which could be called the Kingston's sneaker equivalent; and the low-top "Mother." Other styles include the rugged "Doja," the "Jet," inspired by long-distance marathon sneakers; the "Viper," derived from the Mother collection; and the "Hacienda," Eighties' first beach sandal collection. The pop-up will also feature new items from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, a visual book, and special items exclusive to Eighties shops. Customers will also receive a limited-edition original shopping bag and novelty gift on a first-come, first-served basis. *Ends when stock runs out
