"Yoshiyuki Okuyama Photo Exhibition: The Town Where You Live" will be held from April 27th to May 7th at Space O, located on the third basement floor of the main building of Omotesando Hills in Tokyo. At just 25 years old, Okuyama won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award for Photography, and continues to achieve remarkable success in fashion magazines, CD jackets, advertising, and film. The exhibition will feature a selection of his acclaimed series "The Town Where You Live," which ran in the magazine EYESCREAM. This large-scale exhibition, featuring Okuyama's uniquely crafted streetscapes, centered around Omotesando, represents a major challenge for the artist. The works, all shot with Polaroid cameras, evoke a sense of intimacy and transience, as if the viewer had spent time with the women. Participating celebrities include some of today's most active actresses, including Nana Komatsu, Fumino Kimura, Kasumi Arimura, Yurika Nakamura, Mugi Kadowaki, Shiori Kutsuna, Nana Kiyono, Tsubasa Honda, Aoi Morikawa, Kaho, Suzu Hirose, Ayami Nakajo, Fumi Nikaido, Marie Iitoyo, Akari Hayami, Yuko Araki, Maika Yamamoto, Mikako Tabe, Riho Yoshioka, Sayu Kubota, Reina Kurosaki, Ren Komai, Natsumi Okamoto, Ai Ning Yao, Fuka Koshiba, Momoko Tanabe, and Yui Sakuma. Approximately 170 works will also be on display, including unique and ephemeral landscape photographs of Tokyo taken exclusively for the exhibition. The exhibition is produced by creative director Shigeo Goto, and the design is by leading Japanese art director Kazunari Hattori. During the exhibition, talk events with Okuyama Yoshiyuki and guests are also scheduled to be held.
