Issey Miyake's HaaT will hold an event at Shinjuku Isetan and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, featuring limited edition and special order items

Mar 2, 2017

HaaT, a brand by ISSEY MIYAKE, will hold the "URAYAMA" event at Isetan Shinjuku and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi.

The event will feature two works by designer Kurara Daido, winner of the 4th Grand Prix of the "KOKKA PRINT TEXTILE AWARD - INSPIRATION" design contest, which aims to discover future textile designers, and will unveil new pieces incorporating HaaT's unique techniques.

"URAYAMA" uses Daido's textile work "The Front of the Mountain Behind," which depicts the surface of a mountain glistening in the sunlight, and is a series in which each strand of bias-cut fabric is carefully sewn together to create a three-dimensional effect reminiscent of the shadows of the mountains. In addition to tops (48,000 yen) and shirts (58,000 yen) in refreshing colors reminiscent of the season of fresh greenery, there will also be a chic monochrome long skirt (55,000 yen) and a dress (62,000 yen) in eye-catching vibrant orange and purple colors exclusive to HaaT/AOYAMA, Isetan Shinjuku, and Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. The "URAYAMA TADPOLE" series, which uses the striking textile "Try calling it a tadpole," with colors reminiscent of light shining through water, will include a jacquard collarless jacket (78,000 yen), wide-leg pants (53,000 yen), and a dress (67,000 yen). Other limited edition items and special colors will also be available at the venue. The event will be held at Center Park The Stage #4 on the 4th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building from March 8th to March 14th, and at Space #3 on the 3rd floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Building from March 29th to April 4th. In addition, a fair will be held at shops nationwide from March 2nd to March 31st.
