Reebok's new commercial song is a collaboration between VERBAL, Miliyah Kato, and AI

Nov 29, 2013

Reebok's new TV commercial, "Reebok CLASSIC Freestyle," premiered on November 29th. The background music is "RUN FREE," the first collaboration between musicians AI, Miliyah Kato, and Verbal. "RUN FREE" is an original dance music piece created for Reebok's women's aerobics shoes, "Freestyle," released in 1982. Verbal, Asia Pacific creative director for Reebok Classic, wrote the song together with AI and Miliyah Kato. The up-tempo tune features lyrics that reference "freestyle" and "Reebok." The promotional video, featuring E-girls member Kyoka Takeda and others, depicts people who watch a VHS tape of 1980s-style aerobics videos becoming infected with a "dance virus" and starting to dance. The commercial will also appear as an in-stream ad on YouTube and can be seen in Reebok Classic's web magazine "R+ CLASSIC in TOKYO," which will be launched on the 29th and for which Verbal will serve as special editor.
