Wako Co., Ltd. will begin selling a limited edition Grand Seiko model on October 22nd, celebrating its 60th anniversary as the pinnacle of Japanese-made wristwatches. The model is based on the modern case of the so-called "44GS," which established the "Seiko style." Grand Seiko's green dial has always been popular, and this time it also incorporates a stylish radial pattern. This is inspired by the pine needles of the Nanbu aka pine, the prefectural tree of Iwate Prefecture, where Grand Seiko mechanical watches are made, are located, at Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. A red GMT hand, which indicates the second time zone, adds an accent.
