The 2014 Holiday Collection for Gyakusou, a collaboration between UNDERCOVER designer Jun Takahashi and Nike, launched on October 23rd, driven by a commitment to providing runners with the best possible performance. The collection incorporates the highest level of innovation from Nike Running and the Nike Research Lab, as well as rigorous testing by Takahashi and his GIRA running crew. The result is a groundbreaking running uniform. Takahashi's design was focused on creating a one-piece bottom that could be worn without layering shorts over tights. However, simply removing the shorts would be pointless. For example, pockets are necessary for storing house keys, train passes, and coins for buying water from a vending machine during a run. Ultimately, the idea for the uniform even led to the question, "What will running form be like 1,000 years from now?" The resulting Men's Utility Long Tights offer unprecedented functionality and comfort. The loose-fitting upper section, equipped with pockets for essentials, and the full-length leg tights provide the warmth runners need. The Engineered Sleep Composite Jacket (available in both men's and women's) features StormFIT composite synthetic fabric in the body for weather protection, while engineered knit fabric is used in the sleeves and neck for greater mobility. It also features pockets for keys and coins, as well as laser-cut and glued hidden zipper hand pockets. Laser-perforated side vents and a vertical "GYAKUSOU" logo on the back help keep body heat at bay. This innovative jacket also works with the Dri-FIT Sweatmap Long Sleeve Top and Dri-FIT Sweatmap Short Sleeve Top (available in both men's and women's). This performance shirt, which first appeared in Gyakusou's Spring 2014 collection, is made with functionally knitted jaguar fabric to promote ventilation in areas of the body where heat is most likely to build up, based on SweatMap, a sweat distribution map developed by Nike.
