Louis Vuitton creates trophy case for 2020 NBA Finals, which ended with the Lakers' victory

Oct 15, 2020
On October 12, 2020, during the 2020 NBA Finals broadcast on YouTube TV, the Larry O'Brien Trophy, basketball's most prestigious award, was presented to the winners, the Los Angeles Lakers, in a special Louis Vuitton trophy case for the first time in history.

Louis Vuitton has signed a partnership agreement to become the first maison to produce the NBA's official trophy cases over the next few years. To celebrate this milestone, the Maison is announcing its first men's wear capsule collection in collaboration with the NBA, "LV x NBA." Created by Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, the collection features ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods, and shoes accented with designs combining the Louis Vuitton and NBA emblems, and will be available from November 20th. Louis Vuitton also unveiled the "LV x NBA Trunk," a wardrobe-style trunk designed to store precious clothing, accessories, and shoes. The striking design features double doors. The classic Monogram canvas exterior contrasts vividly with the white rosin and gold-colored metal hardware used to open and close the trunk and protect the corners. The interior is lined in deep blue, poppy red, and crisp white, reminiscent of the official NBA colors.
