 SLGH003
SLGH003To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Grand Seiko, a representative Japanese wristwatch, Seiko Watch Corporation will release the first stainless steel model equipped with the innovative mechanical caliber 9SA5, which was released in 2020, in limited quantities from December 11th. The suggested retail price is 1.1 million yen (tax included) (1 million yen excluding tax).
Grand Seiko was born in 1960, bringing together the best of the technology and craftsmanship of the time. Since then, the brand has built its legacy by constantly striving to create the finest wristwatches, pursuing and realizing the essential qualities of a wristwatch - accuracy, legibility, and beauty - at a high level, and this year marks its 60th anniversary.
This model is equipped with the caliber 9SA5 of the "Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 80 Hours," making it a model that embodies 60 years of tradition and innovation.

While Hi-Beat movements generally have shorter power runs, this model employs one of the world's finest mechanical movements, achieving a long battery life of approximately 80 hours when fully wound. Previous Grand Seiko models featured high-beat movements (9S8 series) with a frequency of 36,000 vph, providing a power reserve of approximately 55 hours when fully wound. However, the Caliber 9SA5 employs a highly efficient escapement and twin mainspring barrels (two mainsprings), achieving a significantly longer power reserve of approximately 80 hours when fully wound, despite its high-beat frequency of 36,000 vph.
This is the first stainless steel model to feature the innovative 9SA5 movement.
While based on the "Seiko Style" design grammar inherited by Grand Seiko, this timepiece revisits the design of the original Grand Seiko, enhancing legibility and comfort, resulting in a timeless design that will lead the way for a new era of Grand Seiko. This is the first stainless steel model to feature the 9SA5 movement, and its low-center-of-gravity case design and wider links than conventional metal bracelets provide excellent wearability.
