Swiss furniture manufacturer Vitra will open its first Asian pop-up store, "Vitra Pop Up Store - The Power of Design and Craft," focusing on its accessory collection, from November 16th to 22nd at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
Vitra offers a wide range of products, from works by great designers such as Alexander Girard, Charles and Ray Eames, and George Nelson, to the latest works by contemporary designers such as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Hella Jongerius. The pop-up store will feature special products created specifically for the occasion, as well as accessories featuring colorful graphics perfect for the Christmas season. The lineup includes the Japanese "Kokeshi Doll," inspired by the sketches of Alexander Girard, a leading American mid-century designer, and the "Golden Eames House Bird," a limited edition of five units, a reproduction of a black wooden bird sculpture that Charles and Ray Eames treasured for over 50 years and that has been painstakingly covered in gold leaf. There will also be a limited-edition colorway of a convenient toolbox that neatly organizes stationery and small items around your desk, and a "Soft Shell Chair" designed by France-based Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec upholstered in Alexander Girard fabric. Additionally, three items from the latest Vitra Accessories collection, just announced in September, will be available for pre-sale. Three items will be available: the cloud-shaped "Nuage" flower vase, the "Graphic Box" featuring Alexander Girard's graphics, and the "Color Block Blanket" featuring a beautiful color combination designed by Hella Jongerius, Vitra's Director of Color and Materials. Additionally, purchases of ¥10,000 or more (excluding tax) during the event will receive a free original tote bag featuring Alexander Girard's "Wooden Doll" motif. Additionally, an Instagram photo contest will be held from November 16th to 23rd at 8:00 PM. To participate, simply follow "@Vitra_japan" on Instagram and post a photo featuring Vitra accessories taken at the pop-up store, at home, or on a trip with the hashtag "#VitraPopUpStoreAtlsetan." Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners based on the number of likes. Entries are limited to Japan residents.
