"YANOTAN," a pop-up shop created in collaboration between Isetan, celebrating its 130th anniversary, and singer-songwriter Akiko Yano, an avid Isetan fan, will open from November 30th to December 6th in the Center Park/TOKYO Kaihoku area on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
The pop-up shop will feature a variety of items created by brands with ties to Isetan, such as mina perhonen and KLOKA, inspired by Yano's music and essential elements of her lifestyle. Titles of Yano's signature songs, including "ISETAN-TAN-TAN," the official Isetan song written by Yano, such as "Hitotsu Dake" (Just One Thing), "Harusaki Kobeni" (Harusaki Kobeni), and "I Want to Eat Ramen," as well as Yano's beloved cats, the universe, fragrances, and wine, have all been transformed into cushions, tote bags, handkerchiefs, mugs, and more. The store also offers limited-edition merchandise commemorating the 40th anniversary of Yano's solo debut. Items include clear files, hand towels, pouches, and ramen bowls. Additionally, purchases at the pop-up shop during the event will receive a special bonus: a download of the unreleased high-resolution audio of "ISETAN-TAN-TAN (English ver.)." Regarding the pop-up shop, Yano said, "When Isetan comes to mind, it's all about Akko-chan. My mother told me that the shirt she was planning to buy for my father, who was a poor student, turned into a stuffed toy for me. When I became a high school student and musician, I bought a bag with the money I earned. Now, as Akiko Yano, Akko-chan has even been honored with a song for Isetan, which can be heard both inside and outside the store. And today, I'm opening a little shop here called "YANOTAN." Everyone, please come and meet Akko-chan."
