New Pepsi Nex Zero commercial features live-action version of Momotaro, starring Shun Oguri

Mar 7, 2014

To coincide with the relaunch of Pepsi NEX Zero, Suntory Beverage & Food International will begin airing its new TV commercial, "Momotaro 'Episode.ZERO'," featuring actor Shun Oguri, nationwide from March 8th. The new commercial, an original live-action adaptation of the Japanese folk tale "Momotaro," expresses the Pepsi brand's commitment to continually striving to deliver the delicious taste of the new Pepsi NEX Zero, under the theme "Forever Challenge." Oguri Shun plays Momotaro, and the dramatic portrayal is reminiscent of a Hollywood film. The commercial's music is "Same Ol'" by The Heavy, a four-piece band formed in Bath, southern England. Their style fuses the golden age of rock and soul from the 1960s and 1970s with hip-hop and beyond, and they also provided music for the hit film "Ted." "Same Ol'" is also included on the band's currently available third album, "The Glorious Dead."
