Actress Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965, in Ohio, USA. She aspired to be an actress from a young age and made her television debut at age eight. She made her Broadway debut at age 11 and played the lead role in the musical "Annie" for two years at age 13. She began appearing more frequently in television dramas around 1981, and made her film debut in "Footloose" in 1984. She subsequently appeared in "Ed Wood" (1994) and "Body Bank" (1996). She rose to fame playing the lead role of Carrie in the television series "Sex and the City," which began airing in 1998. She won four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress and two Emmy Awards for Best Actress for her role in the series. Her work in "SATC" has also made her a leading figure in the American fashion industry. In addition to launching her own perfume and fashion brands, in January of this year she released a collaborative collection called "SJP" with Manolo Blahnik, a brand she wears in the film.

In her personal life, she dated Robert Downey Jr. from 1984 to 1991. In 1997 she married actor Matthew Broderick and gave birth to her first son in 2002. In 2009, she gave birth to twin girls via surrogate.
