Singer Lady Gaga was born on March 28, 1986, in New York State, USA. She took piano lessons from a teacher who had worked with many famous artists, and by the time she was 13, she was composing ballads. She began performing in clubs at age 14 and enrolled in the School of the Arts at New York University at age 17, but dropped out after her first year. In 2007, she signed a songwriting contract with Interscope Records and wrote songs for artists such as Fergie and Britney Spears. After being recognized as a singer by music producer Akon, she released her debut album, "The Fame," in 2008. The album reached number one on the music charts in four countries and sold over 15 million copies. The single "Just Dance" from the album was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 51st Grammy Awards.

Her subsequent album, "The Monster" (2009), became the best-selling album in the world in 2010, and her album "Born This Way" (2011) reached number one in 28 countries. In 2012, she performed in Japan, attracting 100,000 people over three days at Saitama Super Arena.

She has always attracted attention with her eccentric fashion, and in 2012 she produced a perfume and was chosen as the model for Versace's 2014 Spring/Summer campaign.
