Seiko Watch Corporation will begin releasing limited edition models of the world's first GPS solar watch, Seiko Astron, from October 23rd, featuring the team colors of Shohei Ohtani, the brand's image character and current player for the Los Angeles Angels. The suggested retail price is 297,000 yen (tax included) (270,000 yen excluding tax).

A special design inspired by the team colors of Los Angeles Angels player Shohei Ohtani.

This watch features a white dial and the vibrant red of the Los Angeles Angels' home uniform. The scratch-resistant black ceramic bezel and indexes give this limited edition design a sharp, sporty look. The city code on the top of the bezel features the UTC "-8" indication for Anaheim, California, the Angels' home base, along with the letters "ANA" in red. All indexes are filled with Lumibrite for excellent visibility, even at night.

In addition to Ohtani's autograph, the case back also features the words "Limited Edition," which is proof that this is a limited edition model, and a serial number ranging from 0001/1700 to 1700/1700, a reference to his uniform number "17." This, along with the special box which also features Ohtani's autograph, further enhances the rarity of this model.

Novelty Campaign

Customers who purchase this model will receive an Astron original "Ohtani Bobblehead."

Seiko Astron takes its name from the Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz watch, which Seiko introduced in 1969. Launched in September 2012, the world's first GPS solar watch aims to usher in a "second revolution" following the "quartz revolution," which transformed lifestyles around the world with its high timekeeping accuracy. With a simple button press, the watch receives GPS satellite signals, acquires latitude, longitude, and altitude information to pinpoint your current location, and quickly displays the accurate time for that location, no matter where you are on Earth.

*With the "5X Series," if time zone adjustment (excluding manual adjustment) is successful, the time displayed will reflect the implementation information of DST (Daylight Saving Time) for the region. (※1) Super Black DiaShield
Its practical hardness (including the hardness of the coating and base material) is approximately 1.5 times that of conventional hard coatings and approximately 1.2 times that of Seiko's proprietary surface processing technology, DiaShield, making it highly scratch-resistant. It is also resistant to peeling and achieves a uniform, jet-black shine. (※2) Comfortex
This Seiko-original technology combines Super Clear Coating (※5), which makes the glass virtually invisible, with DiaShield, which protects the watch from scratches, to provide the comfort and ease of use you expect from a wristwatch (easy to read and scratch-resistant). (※3) Please visit our website (www.seikowatches.com) to check the time zone and DST (Daylight Saving Time) data built into the listed products. Changes to the time zone and DST (Daylight Saving Time) implementation information will not be reflected. Manual time zone selection and manual DST (Daylight Saving Time) setting are required. (※4) Super Smart Sensor
Seiko's proprietary technology that automatically receives time information up to twice a day. When sunlight hits the dial, such as when you're out, the reception timing is automatically adjusted and GPS satellite signal reception begins. The watch also remembers the time of the last successful manual reception and automatically adjusts the time to that time. (Reception will not occur when the watch is insufficiently charged. Time zone adjustment is required when moving between time zones.)
(※5) Super Clear Coating
Seiko's proprietary anti-reflective coating process employs a transparent film on both the front and back of the glass that reduces light reflection by more than 99%. The glass is invisible, even in bright sunlight or other brightly lit environments. The anti-fouling film on the surface makes it easy to wipe off any dirt.
