Yusuke Takahashi, designer of ISSEY MIYAKE MEN, will hold a talk event at the brand's Senba store in Osaka on March 21st. In addition to information about his first SS14 collection, the event will also feature behind-the-scenes stories from the AW14-15 collection, which was announced in January of this year. The theme for the SS14 season is "Open the Window and See the World." Using textiles developed through research into traditional dyeing techniques, Takahashi incorporated inspiration from his global travels into his designs. The AW14-15 collection also reflects images of majestic nature. Born in Tokyo in 1985, Takahashi graduated from Tamagawa University's College of Art and completed his Fashion Design course at Bunka Fashion Graduate University in 2010, majoring in Fashion Creation. While still a student, he won the 83rd Soen Award in 2009. He then joined Miyake Design Office, where he worked on the new manufacturing research and development team, "Reality Lab," and on the design team for Issey Miyake Men. Last year, at the age of 27, he was appointed designer for the brand, attracting worldwide attention. His debut show was also highly praised by renowned journalist Suzy Menkes.
