Chika Kisada, designer of Chika Kisada, will be in charge of costume design for "Young NBJ GALA 2025," a program for the New National Theatre Ballet Company's 2024/2025 season, which will be performed over two days on July 12th and 13th, 2025. This performance is planned as the second in a series of gala performances focusing on young dancers who will lead the next generation, and brings together the talent that will lead the New National Theatre Ballet Company in the future. In addition to focusing on classical ballet pas de deux, works by a variety of choreographers will also be performed.

The new work, "The Theory of Reality," for which Kisada will be designing costumes, is a contemporary ballet piece created specifically for this performance by Keigo Fukuda, a former dancer with the New National Theatre Ballet Company who has also been attracting attention in recent years as a choreographer. The work is based on the theme of "space," and was conceived from the perspective that —— many phenomena that exist in it are beyond our senses to grasp, and can only be visualized through a mathematical approach ——.

In response to this concept, Kisada created costumes with her own unique interpretation. Drawing on not only a scientific perspective but also philosophical and spiritual exploration, she used delicate shapes and textures to express the moment when "invisible" entities and phenomena overlap with the equally invisible emotions and movements of the human mind.
